Enrollment Steps

We would like to sincerely thank you for taking the time and effort to complete our enrollment process! Please see our guidelines below.

*We are full for the 2018-2019 school year. We are currently interviewing for the 2019-2020 school year.

1. Attend an Information Night. These evenings are intended to introduce families to our school and the Montessori philosophy. Currently enrolled parents in our school will be in attendance to answer questions as needed from a parent’s perspective. Please note that Information Nights include a presentation (rather than an informal format of parents dropping in and out throughout the evening) so it is important to arrive by 6:30 pm. Information Nights are held from 6:30-7:30 pm and are for adults only.

2019 DATES. All Information Nights are from 6:30-7:30 pm and are for adults only.

*You will NOT receive an immediate confirmation email once you sign up. We will send a reminder email a few weeks prior to the event, as well as documents with current school information.

2. Schedule a 30-minute Parent Tour. The Application is due at this point. First, please complete our questionnaire so we can get to know a little more about your family. Please be sure to email us when you have finished at schedulevisits.gpm@gmail.com. Parent Tours may take place anytime throughout the school year on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for 30-minute increments and are schedule between 9 and 11 am.

3. Schedule a 30-minute Child Visit. The application fee ($45) is due at this point. Your child must be 2.7 or older for this visit. Child Visits take place during our enrollment period which is November through April. A lead teacher will work directly with your child to observe how independent your child is, how he or she responds to the Montessori environment, and if your child can remain appropriately engaged with classroom materials. A certain amount of maturity is needed to engage in the classroom this way, therefore we ask that you bring your child at the age of 2.7 or older.

We ask that you drop your child off for the visit (but remain in close proximity to the school- the bakery across the street, perhaps) in case your child requires your attention sooner.

Please note: We understand that many parents are eager to admit their child before the age of 2.10, however, there is a certain amount of maturity needed to engage independently in a Montessori classroom. We are a school setting rather than a day care setting and we want your child to be successful. If your child is not able to be independent due to their age or maturity level, it is best if you enroll him or her in another daycare or school setting before enrolling them to our school.

Please note: Children must be fully “potty trained” before starting school. This included dressing, undressing, cleaning, and hand washing. Although infrequent accidents may happen, we cannot enroll your child until he or she is competent in these areas.

4. Enrollment. If the school and your child are a good fit (this is a decision made by you, the teachers, and the Head of School) and space is available for the upcoming school year, we will provide you with enrollment forms. The enrollment fee of $350 and the entirety of the first month’s tuition are required to reserve your child’s space. These fees are non-refundable. Please note that there are no part-time tuition costs and there is an additional lunch fee.

Unfortunately, we are unable to accept most of our potential candidates. If we cannot accommodate you for the school year to which you have applied, we will be happy to keep you on a waitlist should a space become available. We highly encourage you to reach out to us during the next enrollment period (November through April of the following year) if you are still interested in enrolling at that time.

We thank you again for your interest and the time you have taken to participate in our enrollment process at Glen Park Montessori!

All enrollment papers, the required fees, and first month’s tuition must be submitted prior to the first day of school.  We look forward to welcoming you into our program!

*Please note that we do not prorate tuition for any reason. Our tuition is an annual fee that we divide into monthly installments in order to allow for more economic diversity within our school.
